Over the years I've found that buyers want access to information on things like taxes, flood zones, etc. and these sites are ones you can visit to get this information. As I find more I'll add them to this page. I've provided links to these in past newsletter but I'm now adding them to my site so you can find them whenever you want. These are links specifically for Pinellas County. If you want links for other counties, just email me to let me know. Property Taxes Although there is no set way to know what the property taxes will be for the property you purchase when it gets reassessed, you can at least find out what the taxes were for the previous year. In most cases, since property values are either going down slightly or staying steady, it will give you a pretty good idea of what they will be for you. When you find what the property taxes were for the last year, I recommend looking for what the taxes were without any exemptions. That is the maximum tax amount. If you will be eligible for a homestead exemption then you would pay less, but I think you should be aware of what the maximum amount could be. Pinellas County Property Appraiser's Office Click the link above and when you get there go to the menu on the left and click "Search Our Database" and then "By Address". You'll have to 'accept' their disclaimer and then you'll get to the page where you can enter the address you want to check on. Flood Zones If you want to see if a property is in a flood zone, thus requiring flood insurance, go to Pinellas County Flood Zone maps and enter the address you want to check on. Best are flood zone 'X' or 'X-500'. Pinellas County School Map If you want to know what school district a property is in and have its approximate location or its address, you can go to this site and look at which district it is in (you may need to find the property on a regular map to compare to the school district map): Pinellas County Schools district map |
